It was not acceptable for women to show any piece of their hair at this point. The wealthy women also wore head coverings known as snoods in the beginning of the Renaissance period. Similar to the men’s wealthy fashion, the fabrics used were those highly sought after and were typically adorned with the most intricate embroidery. Outfits for women of wealth were made up of six individual pieces including (Skirt, urderskirt, bodice, a vest or overbodice, a hoop, collar). Wealthy women wore outfits that consisted of more pieces than the men’s outfits. At the start of the Renaissance, men’s hosiery would be made from wool, but by the end of the period would be made from nylon. The vest or coat of the wealthy men would be made from the sought after fabrics mentioned and would be the piece of clothing adorned in jewels or intricate embroidery. This outfit consisted of six pieces of clothing including (a vest or coat, padded breeches, hosiery, squared- toed shoes). Wealthy men during the Renaissance wore the same basic outfit. Clothing during this period includes breeches and padded shoulders and embroidered hats.
